Kenya Airways alert (last updated 15 October 2026) says that, per Kenya Civil Aviation Authority directives effective 5 October 2026, travellers applying for a Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) must purchase travel insurance at the point of application through the official eTA portal (etakenya.go.ke). Foreign travel insurance policies are not accepted; exempt categories are listed in the official circular available during application.
