AeroDue Flight Disruption Index

A source-backed index of aviation disruption events

This index turns AeroDue's verified disruption briefings into a transparent research surface. It counts published incident briefings, not delayed flights or affected passengers, and never treats a travel alert as proof that every flight was disrupted.

What this dataset measures

Published, source-backed disruption briefings

The unit counted here is an AeroDue incident briefing that passed the publication boundary. It is not a count of delayed flights, cancellations, passengers, claims or compensation awards. That distinction prevents headline events from being presented as operational statistics they cannot support.

Methodology and evidence boundary

  • A briefing is counted only when it exists in AeroDue's current non-superseded incident registries.
  • Incident pages identify their evidence and review date; live flight status remains the responsibility of the operating airline or airport.
  • Multiple airport briefings can relate to one wider event, so this index must not be interpreted as a count of independent aviation events.
  • AeroDue does not infer compensation from the existence of an incident. Route, carrier, cause, timing and the applicable passenger-rights regime still matter.
  • Superseded briefings are excluded from the headline count to reduce double counting.

How to cite or use the index

When referencing this resource, describe it as an index of AeroDue's published source-backed disruption briefings and include the review date. Do not describe the headline count as the number of disrupted flights or affected passengers.
