Rules that can change the answer

EU passenger-rights rules can turn similar disruptions into very different outcomes.

When Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 applies, route, distance, arrival delay, operating airline and the cause of the disruption can all change the answer. AeroDue checks the journey instead of assuming that every delay or cancellation is the same.

EU261 Official basis: European Union · Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 · current rules only
€250 Flights up to 1,500 km
€400 Certain EU and 1,500–3,500 km flights
€600 Certain longer flights above 3,500 km

These are Article 7 reference bands, not automatic payouts. Eligibility, rerouting and other legal conditions can change or reduce the amount.

Situations that deserve their own check

The label alone never decides the result.

Overbooking / denied boarding
Missed connection
Airline strike
Bad weather
Rerouting / replacement flight
Downgrade

A strike or bad weather does not automatically mean “yes” or “no”. Overbooking, missed connections, rerouting and downgrade can also depend on specific journey facts. The checker keeps those facts separate before any legal conclusion appears.

What may be at stake

The money involved may be more than compensation.

A disrupted journey can create separate rights. AeroDue keeps them apart so you can see where money may be recoverable without mixing different legal categories.

Possible payment

Compensation

A fixed amount may apply in eligible delay, cancellation or denied-boarding cases.

Ticket money

Refunds

The unused ticket price can be a separate right from compensation.

Out-of-pocket costs

Care & expenses

Necessary meals, hotel or ground transport may be recoverable under the applicable rules.

Separate regime

Baggage

Delayed, lost or damaged checked baggage can create rights under a different legal regime.

AeroDue only shows a supported conclusion when the verified rules and journey facts are sufficient. If they are not, it says what is missing instead of guessing.

Before you give up or move forward

Do not leave money behind because you trusted the wrong answer.

A misapplied rule, a missing fact or an unsupported promise can make you give up too early — or send you down the wrong path. AeroDue shows what is supported, what is missing and the official basis behind the conclusion.

A weak conclusion can cost money, time — or both.

Do not accept a “no” without a basisWhen a result is supported, you can see the jurisdiction, rule version and official sources behind it.
Do not move forward on false certaintyIf facts or source coverage are missing, AeroDue shows the gap before presenting a supported conclusion.
