Air Serbia to launch the first direct Cluj-Napoca–Belgrade flights on 31 May 2027
Air Serbia will start the first direct flights between Cluj-Napoca and Belgrade on 31 May 2027, Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport announced on 20 October 2026. The route is planned four times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with 72-seat ATR 72 aircraft.
The airport says tickets are already on sale on the Air Serbia website and that the timetable, taken from the airline's booking system, may change. Through its Belgrade hub, Air Serbia offers connections to North America, including New York, Chicago and Toronto, with Miami listed from 24 June 2027, as well as to Shanghai, the Middle East and numerous European destinations.
Alin Tișe, president of Cluj County Council, welcomed the route as bringing new opportunities for the county. Airport general director David Ciceo described Air Serbia as a prestigious airline and said access to North America was a significant advantage, while Viorel Federiga, chairman of the airport's board, said the arrival of a new carrier showed the airport's ability to attract new operators and strengthen its position in the region.
The announcement lists provisional times but notes that they may change, and onward connections depend on the airline's schedule at Belgrade. Travellers planning to use the route should confirm flight times and connection options with Air Serbia when booking.
