Ethiopian Airlines launches three-weekly flights to Nacala, its third destination in Mozambique
Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new passenger service from Addis Ababa to Nacala in northern Mozambique, operating three times a week, the airline announced on 27 October 2026. The inaugural flight left Addis Ababa Bole International Airport after a ceremony attended by senior government officials, stakeholders and airline executives.
Nacala is Ethiopian's third destination in Mozambique, after Maputo and Beira. The airline describes the coastal city as a gateway to northern Mozambique's tourism attractions and economic opportunities, and says the route will improve access for international investors, business travellers, tourists and development partners and support trade, investment and tourism. Ethiopian says it serves more than 65 destinations in Africa through its Addis Ababa hub.
For travellers to and from northern Mozambique, the service adds a link to Ethiopian's network through Addis Ababa. Mesfin Tasew, group chief executive of Ethiopian Airlines, said the airline remains committed to connecting every corner of the continent with the rest of the world and that the new service further strengthens its footprint in Mozambique.
The announcement does not give the operating days, aircraft type or flight times, or say whether the flights stop at any intermediate point. Passengers should check the current timetable with Ethiopian Airlines and confirm the entry requirements for Mozambique before travelling.
