Finnair cancels all Tel Aviv flights until further notice and avoids Israeli airspace

Finnair has cancelled all of its flights to Tel Aviv until further notice, citing continuing uncertainty about the situation in Israel, according to a travel update on the Finnish airline's website last updated on 16 October 2026.

The airline states that it does not fly to Tel Aviv or use Israeli airspace in the current situation. Finnair describes the safety of its customers and crew as its first priority and says it will cooperate with the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and other authorities when needed.

The decision removes Finnair's link between Helsinki and Israel for the time being for travellers who had planned to fly with the airline to or from Israel. Because no end date is given, travellers with bookings for the coming weeks or months cannot assume the route will be back in time for their trip.

Finnair's update does not give flight numbers or detail rebooking and refund conditions; instead it directs passengers to the airline's separate notice on passenger rights. The airline says it will publish new information on the same page as the situation develops. Travellers with tickets to or from Tel Aviv should contact Finnair or their travel agent to confirm what options apply to their booking.
