IATA links Timatic entry checks to visa applications through OneVasco
Passengers who need a visa may soon be able to apply for it in the same place where airlines check their travel documents. IATA announced in Geneva on 22 October 2026 that OneVasco's visa concierge service will be built into Timatic, the database airlines use to confirm what documents each passenger needs to enter a country.
Airlines that choose to offer it will be able to add the service to Timatic, including through Timatic Web and the Timatic Widget. The traveller would then move straight from checking the entry requirements of a trip to applying for an e-visa or a sticker visa, with eligibility checks, document verification, help with the application, secure payment and status tracking handled by OneVasco.
IATA justifies the move with its 2025 Global Passenger Survey, in which 33% of passengers said visa or immigration complexity had put them off travelling.
The service depends on each airline deciding to add it, and it does not change any country's entry rules. Travellers still need to confirm the requirements with the official authorities of their destination and with their airline before they fly.
