Indonesia's TransNusa starts Melbourne–Bali flights, going daily from 16 November
Indonesian airline TransNusa began flying between Melbourne and Denpasar in Bali on 20 October 2026, when its inaugural flight from Bali landed at Melbourne Airport that morning, the airport announced the same day.
The route opens with four flights a week on a 174-seat Airbus A320. Departures from Melbourne operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from Denpasar on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. From 16 November the service becomes daily, which Melbourne Airport says will take it to 120,000 seats a year, adding more than 70,000 seats annually to the market.
The airport describes Bali as the top destination for Australians, and the new service gives travellers from Melbourne another airline option to the island. Lorie Argus, chief executive of Melbourne Airport, said there is much more to Indonesia beyond Bali, while Datuk Bernard Francis, group chief executive of TransNusa, said the airline was proud to connect the two cities.
The announcement does not include flight numbers or departure times. Travellers should confirm the schedule, baggage allowance and the day of operation with TransNusa before booking, especially for dates before the daily service starts.
