Naples Airport runways to close in November: ITA Airways swaps Rome flights for buses, moves Linate to Salerno

Naples Airport's runways are due to close in November for infrastructure works, and ITA Airways has changed its schedule to keep Naples passengers moving during the closure. In its current-information notice for passengers, the Italian airline says the airport operator plans to shut the runways in November and that its own timetable is being updated accordingly.

Under the revised plan, ITA Airways says its flights between Naples and Rome will be replaced by a bus service, while its flights between Naples and Milan Linate will operate from Salerno airport instead. The airline asks affected passengers to contact its call centre to review alternatives or request a refund of their ticket.

The change affects anyone with an ITA Airways booking on the Naples–Rome or Naples–Milan Linate routes during the works, including passengers connecting in Rome to other domestic and international flights. Because the runways themselves are closing, travellers booked with other airlines serving Naples in November are also likely to see changes and should check with their own carrier.

The ITA Airways notice does not give exact start and end dates or times for the closure, and it does not describe how the bus connection to Rome will work. Passengers booked to or from Naples in November should check the departure airport code on every segment of their booking, confirm the latest timings directly with their airline, and allow extra time for any road transfer to Salerno or Rome.

Check the operator's latest conditions before booking or travelling.
