Norwegian adds UK–Oslo capacity in winter push to bring British skiers to Norway
Norwegian Air Shuttle is increasing capacity between the United Kingdom and Oslo this winter as part of a campaign with Norway Home of Skiing, the ski resort group Alpinco and airport operator Avinor to attract more British skiers to Norway, the airline announced on 15 October 2026.
According to the release, direct flights from London and Edinburgh to Oslo increase compared with last winter, although no frequencies are given for those routes. Manchester service rises from two to five weekly departures, including a new Sunday departure aimed at British ski travellers. UK ski operators Ski Safari, Ski Solutions and Crystal Ski support the campaign, which combines digital marketing, consumer events and tour-operator activity across the UK.
The partners want to grow British guest-nights in Norway from 150,000 to 200,000 in winter 2026/27, and describe a five-to-ten-year ambition to position Norway as an alternative to traditional Alpine destinations. Resorts involved include Oppdal, Kvitfjell, Hafjell, Beitostølen, Gausta, Geilo, Myrkdalen, Narvik, Norefjell and Voss; Narvik will host the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in February 2029. Norwegian's chief commercial officer said the airline can use additional capacity to bring British skiers to Norway rather than mainly flying Norwegians to the UK.
The release does not set out full timetables or say how the resorts are reached from Oslo. Skiers should check flight days with Norwegian and onward transport with their resort or tour operator.
