Oman Airports and RESQTEC set up disabled-aircraft recovery training at Muscat International Airport

Oman Airports has signed an agreement with RESQTEC, a Netherlands-based provider of aircraft recovery equipment, services and training, to set up a specialist training framework for recovering and removing disabled aircraft at Muscat International Airport, the airport company announced on 28 October 2026.

The framework covers long-term theoretical and practical training for participants from airports, airlines and specialist organisations worldwide. Oman Airports will provide training facilities, suitable aircraft, recovery equipment and local operational support, while RESQTEC will supply the training programmes, instructors and course materials and oversee course quality. The agreement also includes developing Oman Airports employees as instructors, who will take part in the training under RESQTEC's supervision and assessment.

Saud Al Hubaishi, chief operating officer of Oman Airports, said the partnership reflected the company's commitment to operational readiness and high safety standards. Dennis Beck, global sales director at RESQTEC, said readiness for disabled aircraft recovery depends on people being able to plan and coordinate.

The announcement gives no course dates, fees or participant numbers. The two organisations say details of upcoming courses in Muscat and registration arrangements will be announced jointly at a later date.
