Oslo Airport security check: take out laptops and tablets, and have your boarding pass ready
Editorial interpretation
At the security check at Oslo Airport, larger electronic devices such as laptops, cameras, tablets and handheld gaming devices must be taken out of hand luggage and screened separately, according to the airport operator Avinor. Mobile phones can stay in your hand luggage or in your outerwear.
Liquids, including duty-free items, baby food and medicines, go in the plastic bins together with jackets and outerwear, with toiletries packed in one-litre bags. Shoes with metal parts, belts with metal buckles and crutches also go through the X-ray machine. Smaller items such as headphones, keys, chargers and sunglasses can be kept in hand luggage or under outerwear, and glasses stay on during screening.
Before reaching the checkpoint, have a valid boarding pass ready, either on paper with a barcode or on your phone. Avinor points out that security officers can ask you to remove further items and can stop objects they consider a safety threat, even if those objects are normally permitted. Lithium batteries, such as those in power banks, cannot go in checked baggage.
Passengers arriving at an Avinor airport to continue by plane should know that tax-free liquids over 100 ml are packed by staff in a sealed duty-free bag. The quantities of liquids allowed are set out on Avinor's separate baggage rules page, so check it before packing.
