Ryanair introduces self-service bag drop kiosks at Rabat Airport, with other Moroccan bases to follow

Ryanair has introduced self-service bag drop kiosks at Rabat Airport, the airline announced on Wednesday 28 October 2026. It says it is the first airline to offer self-service bag drop at Rabat and the first in Morocco to use this mobile-enabled technology.

According to Ryanair, the kiosks are meant to make dropping checked bags faster and simpler, shorten check-in queues and give passengers more time to get through security and reach their departure gate. After Rabat, the airline plans to extend the technology to its four other Moroccan bases, Agadir, Fez, Marrakesh and Tangier, and its Chief Operating Officer, Neal McMahon, said it expects to complete that rollout in time for Summer '27.

The announcement coincides with the start of what Ryanair calls its biggest-ever winter schedule for Morocco, with 5.3m seats across 156 routes linking the country with 14 European countries, including 17 new routes. For travellers flying to or from Rabat with checked luggage, the change affects how and where bags are dropped before security.

The release does not say whether the kiosks will be the only bag drop option for Ryanair flights at Rabat, nor the exact dates for the other four airports. Passengers should check the bag drop instructions for their own flight with Ryanair before travelling.
