Timișoara Airport to close its runway from 2 to 22 November 2026, suspending all flights

Timișoara's Traian Vuia International Airport in western Romania will suspend all take-offs and landings from 08:00 on 2 November until 21:00 on 22 November 2026, while its runway is fully closed for repair works, the airport has announced.

In a press release, the airport said the works require the complete closure of the runway, so no flights can operate during the whole period. It presented the repairs as an investment in operational safety, intended to keep runway operations at high safety standards and to improve operating conditions for aircraft in the medium and long term.

The airport said airlines have already been informed so that they can adjust their flight schedules and notify their passengers. Because the closure lasts three weeks, anyone booked to fly to or from Timișoara between those dates is directly affected, whether travelling for work, to visit family or on holiday.

The airport has not published a list of affected flights, and its notice does not say how individual airlines will rebook, reroute or refund passengers. It advises anyone with a flight in that window to contact the airline that sold the ticket and to check the status of their flight regularly before travelling.

Check the operator's latest conditions before booking or travelling.
