Las Américas, Puerto Plata and Samaná international airports in the Dominican Republic expect about 1.9 million scheduled seats between October 2026 and March 2027, their operator AERODOM said on 14 October 2026. The company, part of VINCI Airports, says that is more than 88,000 seats above last winter, an increase of 4.9%, with direct flights to 57 international destinations.

Las Américas, which serves Santo Domingo, is expected to offer more than 1.5 million seats. New routes include Rome with ITA Airways, described as the first direct link between Santo Domingo and Italy, Montreal with Air Canada, Houston with United Airlines and Paramaribo with Fly Always. AERODOM also lists growth by JetBlue to Fort Lauderdale, American Airlines to Philadelphia, Avianca to Bogotá, Iberia to Madrid, Copa Airlines to Panama and Arajet to Boston.

Canada leads the growth across the network, with more than 230,000 seats. Puerto Plata adds Flair Airlines flights to Toronto and Montreal, WestJet to Winnipeg and Air Transat to London, Ontario, while Samaná records the largest percentage increase, 29%, driven by WestJet and Air Canada services to Montreal.

The release does not give start dates for the new routes, and AERODOM notes that the figures reflect capacity published by airlines and may change. Travellers interested in these routes should check schedules and operating days directly with the airlines.
