Christchurch Airport: Air New Zealand plans Bali flights for winter 2027 and keeps Singapore year-round

Air New Zealand plans to fly directly between Christchurch and Bali next winter and has confirmed that its Christchurch–Singapore service will operate all year rather than only seasonally, Christchurch Airport said on 30 October 2026.

The Bali service is expected to run three times a week over the 2027 winter, through to the end of August, and to be available to book later in 2026. It remains subject to regulatory and airport approvals. The first flight of the Singapore service left Christchurch on 28 October, marking the return of wide-body flying between the two cities after six years, according to the airport. Travellers can connect onwards through Changi Airport, and the route complements Air New Zealand's long-standing alliance with Singapore Airlines.

The announcements widen the choice of direct international flights from the South Island, alongside Air New Zealand's planned seasonal services to Tokyo Narita and Perth. Christchurch Airport chief executive Justin Watson described them as a great example of the airport's new partnership with Air New Zealand in action.

The Bali flights cannot yet be booked and still need the required approvals, and the release does not give a start date, days of operation or aircraft type for either route. Travellers should check Air New Zealand's published schedule before making plans.
