Heathrow Piccadilly line closed on 17–18 October weekend
Heathrow warns that planned works will stop Piccadilly line services to and from the airport on 17–18 October. No Night Tube service is planned for Friday 16 October either.
The airport lists Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line, replacement buses and local buses as operating alternatives. Normal Piccadilly service is expected on Monday 19 October.
The notice concerns ground access. Check your route before leaving and allow for busier alternatives; it is not an announcement that your flight is cancelled.
The Underground's Piccadilly line is only one way to reach Heathrow. According to the airport, the planned closure does not apply in the same way to Heathrow Express, the Elizabeth line or the bus alternatives listed as operating. Those services may be busier, so travellers should allow extra time to reach their terminals.
Passengers should check which station serves their terminal and whether a change of service is needed. A problem with ground access is not, by itself, evidence that a flight is delayed or that air-passenger compensation applies. Normal Piccadilly service was expected on Monday 19 October, but passengers should verify any subsequent operational changes directly with the transport operator.
The announced dates have passed. Check the operator’s current notice before travelling.
Check the operator's latest conditions before booking or travelling.
