Tallinn Airport switches to licence-plate parking from 9 November and phases out paper tickets

Tallinn Airport is introducing ticketless parking, with cameras reading vehicle registration numbers on entry and exit so drivers no longer need a paper ticket, the Estonian airport said on 3 November. The A2 outdoor car park switches first, on 9 November, and the multi-storey car park in front of the terminal follows gradually from 11 November.

Drivers will be able to pay by scanning a QR code in the car park and using an online portal, at card payment kiosks, including new ones in the arrivals area and the A2 car park, or with a contactless bank card at the exit without leaving the vehicle. Mobile payment will only be possible through the Pargi.ee app, where an additional operator service fee applies. The old payment machines and the previous mobile payment service will stop working, and cash is not accepted; the airport's services have been cashless since 1 February.

Anyone who entered with a paper ticket before the changeover will have to pay through the new system. If a number plate cannot be read, on-screen instructions explain how to start a session by automated phone call, with payment linked to the driver's phone number. The airport says online reservations for both car parks will follow in early 2027.

The airport's notice does not give the exact time of the switch on 9 November or say when the multi-storey changeover will be complete. Drivers parking at Tallinn Airport in the coming weeks should check the instructions on site and keep a bank card or the app ready.
