Zurich Airport named Europe's Leading Airport at World Travel Awards for 23rd year in a row

Zurich Airport has been named "Europe's Leading Airport" at the 2026 World Travel Awards, the 23rd consecutive year it has received the title, airport operator Flughafen Zürich AG announced on 19 October 2026.

The airport is also nominated for "World's Leading Airport 2026", and online voting for that category is still open, according to the operator. Two hotels at The Circle also won national categories: Hyatt Place Zurich Airport The Circle was named Switzerland's leading airport hotel and Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle Switzerland's leading conference hotel. Lukas Brosi, chief executive of Flughafen Zürich AG, said the company was particularly proud to receive the recognition for the 23rd year running.

The World Travel Awards committee nominates candidates and winners are decided by a worldwide online vote open to industry professionals and the public. The operator says nominations take into account customer satisfaction, compliance with quality standards and continuous improvement. For travellers, the award reflects voting results rather than an independent audit of queues, punctuality or facilities.

The release does not say when the global category result will be announced. Passengers using Zurich should continue to rely on the airport's own information for waiting times and operational updates on their day of travel.
