Airbus expects demand for 2,720 new passenger jets in Latin America by 2045

Airbus released a forecast on 19 October 2026 projecting demand for 2,720 new passenger aircraft in Latin America by 2045. This is a manufacturer's market estimate, not a count of firm orders already placed by airlines.

According to the study presented in Mexico, the region's commercial passenger fleet could grow from approximately 1,550 to 2,770 aircraft by 2045. Most estimated demand, 2,520 aircraft, would be for single-aisle jets.

Airbus also forecasts 200 widebody deliveries. Of the projected total, 1,220 aircraft would support fleet expansion and 1,500 would replace older types, combining greater capacity with fleet renewal.

The manufacturer links its outlook to economic development, urbanisation and middle-class growth. It estimates average annual growth of 3.7% in origin-and-destination traffic across the region over the next two decades.

These estimates do not confirm specific routes, flight frequencies, fares or individual delivery dates. Travellers should base their plans on the flights and schedules actually published by airlines.
