Delta and LATAM report 17.4 million joint venture passengers

Delta and LATAM say their joint operation carried 17.4 million passengers between October 2022 and July 2026. The update, published on 5 October, marks four years of their North–South America partnership.

The joint network includes 28 routes. The airlines report approximately 31% more capacity in 2026 than in 2023.

The periods differ: 17.4 million is cumulative, not a single year’s traffic. Baggage and lounge benefits remain subject to each passenger’s applicable conditions.

The report describes a partnership across airlines, not a passenger total for a single year. The cumulative customer figure and the percentage growth in capacity refer to different periods. Interpreting the figures requires keeping those time windows separate instead of treating them as directly comparable.

A commercial partnership can increase itinerary combinations and offer reciprocal benefits, but it does not automatically make every airline's rules identical. Baggage allowances, seat selection, lounge eligibility and connection handling depend on the ticket and operating carrier. Anyone booking between North and South America should check every sector and the applicable conditions rather than assuming that network-capacity figures guarantee seats on a specific date.
