Brussels Airlines adds Cairo for summer 2027 and more capacity to Funchal, Malaga and Nice
Brussels Airlines will add Cairo to its network next summer, with the first flight from Brussels scheduled for Monday 29 March 2027, the airline announced on 20 October 2026. The Egyptian capital will be served with up to five weekly flights.
The route is initially planned for the summer season only, although Brussels Airlines says it aims to operate it year-round. The announcement does not state the aircraft type or cabin configuration for the service.
The airline is also expanding its African network elsewhere. Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania, which was launched in June 2026, will gain a third weekly flight from the end of June. In Europe, Brussels Airlines plans additional capacity on leisure routes to Funchal in Madeira, Malaga and Nice, which may give travellers between Belgium and Madeira more seats next summer. Evenes, in northern Norway, will continue to be served during summer 2027.
The release gives no exact frequencies, days or start dates for the additional Funchal, Malaga and Nice capacity, and only Monday is confirmed as an operating day for Cairo. Travellers should check the airline's published schedule for flight times and days before planning trips on these routes.
