Emirates marks 40 years in Egypt with five daily Dubai–Cairo flights

Emirates celebrated forty years of operations in Egypt on 25 October 2026, reflecting on the growth of its Dubai–Cairo route. The airline started flying to Cairo in April 1986 with three services a week. It says the current schedule consists of five daily flights between Dubai and Cairo, operated by a combination of Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.

The carrier reports that more than 13.2 million travellers have flown on almost 50,000 journeys between the two cities since services began. These are cumulative historical statistics provided by Emirates rather than figures for an individual season. The anniversary event took place at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, alongside representatives from aviation and tourism.

Emirates states that its Dubai hub connects travellers from Egypt with almost 140 destinations across six continents. The airline also reports that its cargo operation carried more than 170,000 tonnes of exports and imports between Cairo and international markets over the preceding five years. These details describe the existing network rather than a newly announced route.

The useful point for passengers is that Dubai–Cairo has a high-frequency schedule and onward connections through the carrier's hub. However, a historical anniversary release cannot confirm seat availability, aircraft type, a specific fare or the suitability of a connection on a given date. Check the actual booking and operating timetable before making plans.
