Lufthansa launches nonstop Kuala Lumpur–Frankfurt flights five days a week

Lufthansa has started nonstop flights between Kuala Lumpur and Frankfurt, the airline announced from Kuala Lumpur on 26 October 2026. The new service initially operates five days a week and gives travellers in Malaysia a direct link to the German carrier's Frankfurt hub.

The route is flown with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner offering 287 seats across three travel classes in Lufthansa's Allegris cabin. Flight LH705 departs Kuala Lumpur at 11:55 p.m. and arrives in Frankfurt at 6:00 a.m. the following morning. In the opposite direction, LH704 leaves Frankfurt at 9:30 p.m. and lands in Kuala Lumpur at 4:40 p.m. the following day.

Kuala Lumpur becomes Lufthansa's fourth destination in Southeast Asia, after Bangkok, Singapore and Phuket. Frank Naeve, Lufthansa Group Senior Vice President Global Sales, called the launch an important milestone for Lufthansa and its customers in Malaysia. Malaysia's Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, welcomed the service in line with the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign.

The announcement describes five weekly flights as the initial frequency but does not say whether or when more flights will be added, or on which days of the week the route operates. Passengers should check the operating days, times and aircraft for their chosen travel date when booking.
