Malaysia Airlines resumes Jeddah and Madinah flights from 18 October 2026 after safety review
Malaysia Airlines resumed scheduled flights to and from Jeddah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia with effect from 18 October 2026, the airline said in a news release. It said the decision followed a comprehensive safety review and operational risk assessment.
The resumption ends a temporary suspension of the two routes. Malaysia Airlines thanked passengers for their patience during the suspensions and said it continues to monitor developments in the region, with the safety and security of passengers and crew remaining its highest priority.
The airline asked customers to check their flight schedules and update their contact details through My Booking on its website or mobile app. Passengers who booked through a third-party platform or a travel agent are advised to contact that provider directly. Help is also available through live chat on the website and through the airline's global contact centre.
The release does not list flight numbers, frequencies or aircraft types for the resumed services, and it does not set out the rebooking or refund terms for flights cancelled during the suspension. Travellers with bookings to Jeddah or Madinah should confirm their schedule and options directly with Malaysia Airlines or their booking agent.
