Monterrey to get Air Canada flights to Montréal from May 2027, linking it to all three Canadian hubs
Air Canada will launch a seasonal direct route between Monterrey and Montréal on 1 May 2027, with three flights a week, Mexican airport operator OMA announced on 29 October 2026. With the new service, Monterrey International Airport will have direct links to all three of Air Canada's main hubs: Toronto, Vancouver and Montréal.
According to OMA, Monterrey–Vancouver operations start on 3 December 2026 and continue through the summer season, with two weekly flights from 1 May 2027. Monterrey–Toronto remains a year-round service with four weekly flights. OMA says the combined Montréal and Toronto services provide daily connectivity to eastern Canada, while Vancouver offers onward connections to the Asia-Pacific region.
Ricardo Dueñas, OMA's chief executive, said the new route and the expanded Toronto and Vancouver services confirm Monterrey's consolidation as the country's northern hub. "The expansion of our operations from Monterrey reflects Air Canada's commitment to strengthening connectivity" between Mexico and Canada, said Luis Noriega Benet, Air Canada's commercial director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Nuevo León's tourism secretary, Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, said the Montréal link creates opportunities for visitors and supports business travel and family visits.
The release does not give aircraft types or flight times, which appeared only in a graphic. Travellers should check schedules and booking availability directly with Air Canada before planning connections.
