Narita gains a fifth airline on the Kuala Lumpur route as ZIPAIR starts daily flights
ZIPAIR began a daily scheduled service between Tokyo Narita and Kuala Lumpur International Airport on 20 October 2026, Narita International Airport Corporation announced, making the low-cost carrier the fifth airline to operate on the Narita–Kuala Lumpur connection.
According to the airport's notice, the flights use Narita Terminal 1, served by the Narita Airport Terminal 1 railway station. The schedule is built around an evening departure from Narita and a late-night departure from Kuala Lumpur. The airport describes the route as ZIPAIR's next scheduled service after Narita–Houston, which launched in March 2025, and highlights the airline's affordable fares and free high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi.
Narita links the new service to demand from Malaysia: the notice says visitor numbers from Malaysia to Japan reached a record in 2025, with the fastest year-on-year growth among ASEAN countries. For travellers, a fifth operator adds choice on a route between two major Asian hubs, and the evening timing from Tokyo may suit onward connections at Kuala Lumpur, which travellers should check with the airline.
The airport notice does not give flight numbers, exact departure and arrival times or the aircraft type. Passengers should confirm the schedule, fare conditions and baggage rules directly with ZIPAIR before booking.
