Porto Airport reduced-mobility assistance: ask your airline when booking, or up to 48 hours before departure
Editorial interpretation
Passengers with reduced mobility flying from Porto Airport should request assistance from their airline or travel agent when they book, or up to 48 hours before the published departure time, according to the airport operator, ANA. The airline then passes the request on to the airport, where the service is provided under the MyWay name.
On arrival at the airport, passengers go to a Designated Point of Arrival, a telephone booth clearly marked with the MyWay logo, and use the phone there to notify the service; assistance begins from that point. MyWay provides mobility aids and trained professionals, including escorts during boarding and disembarking, and the terminal has escalators, lifts, moving walkways and clear signage.
Guide dogs are allowed to circulate around the airport, including in boarding areas, but whether they may travel on the aircraft has to be confirmed with the airline or travel agent. The airport also notes that companions may be asked to give up mobility equipment when it is needed for special assistance.
The page does not give a recommended arrival time. Before travelling, confirm with your airline that the request has been registered, ask how early you should be at the airport, and check the conditions for guide dogs on the flight itself.
