British Airways and Viva agree codeshare linking 13 Mexican cities to London
British Airways and the Mexican low-cost airline Viva announced on 3 November 2026 a codeshare partnership covering travel between Mexico, the United Kingdom and Europe. Codeshare flights can be booked now for travel from 28 March 2027.
Under the agreement, 13 Viva destinations in Mexico, including Guadalajara, Monterrey and Puerto Vallarta, become bookable on ba.com under a British Airways flight code. Passengers connect through Mexico City (MEX) or Cancun (CUN) to British Airways flights to London, and can book the whole journey in a single transaction. British Airways Club members earn Avios and tier points on these flights.
Viva describes itself as Mexico's most affordable low-cost airline, with a fleet of 110 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, more than 180 million passengers carried over 20 years and over 60 destinations in Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Costa Rica and Cuba. British Airways says it has been present in Mexico for more than 60 years. Neil Chernoff, British Airways' Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, said the airline was excited to launch the partnership.
The announcement does not list the full set of 13 cities, fares, connection times or baggage terms in detail. Travellers considering a connecting itinerary should check the routing, minimum connection time and baggage conditions shown at booking on ba.com before paying.
