Qatar Airways launches WestJet codeshare, linking Toronto and Montreal to nine more Canadian cities

Qatar Airways has launched a codeshare partnership with WestJet under which the Doha-based airline places its QR code on WestJet flights within Canada, according to a press release issued in Doha on 26 October 2026.

Through the agreement, Qatar Airways passengers arriving in Toronto or Montreal can connect on WestJet to nine Canadian cities: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Regina, Saskatoon, St. John's and Winnipeg. WestJet passengers, in turn, gain access to Qatar Airways' network of more than 170 destinations, which the release illustrates with New Delhi, Nairobi, Singapore and Jeddah.

The partnership comes alongside an increase in Qatar Airways' own flying to Canada. From 25 October 2026 the airline's weekly frequencies to the country rise from 12 to 14, with both Toronto and Montreal now served daily from Hamad International Airport in Doha.

For travellers, a codeshare typically allows a connecting journey to be sold under one airline's flight number, but the release does not give the date from which the codeshare flights can be booked or flown, nor the flight numbers involved. It also does not describe baggage or loyalty arrangements. Passengers should confirm the itinerary and conditions with Qatar Airways or WestJet when booking.
